Labs
Our Labs are wearable sewing programs with single or multiple sessions where you’ll work in a group on projects while having fun developing new skills. We offer a variety of levels from Beginner to Advanced. Labs may require the student to purchase fabric and trims.
Sewing ProjectLAB™ for Kids
Young Sewists join us for Creativity and Sewing Fun in a single class or multiple week Level 1 programs. Sewing Projects are different every session, and include (but not limited to):
- Hand-sewn Bags
- Hair Accessories
- Scarves
- Pillows
Our projects are always on-trend for the season and perfect for beginning or returning students with some basic sewing knowledge.
We keep classes small: you get individual attention and assistance. Sewing machines and supplies are provided. All you need to bring is your passion!
Some classes may require students to purchase fabric or a kit.
Ages 8 to 15.
Fashion ProjectLAB™ for Tweens/Teens
Young Designers join us for Creativity, Fashion and Fun in these multiple week Level 2 programs.
Sewing Projects are different every session, and include (but not limited to) Skirts, Shorts, Robes, Sweatshirts, Tops, Leggings and Joggers. Fiber Art Projects will explore a print or dye technique and apply it to create a work of wearable art. Our projects are on-trend for the season and perfect for beginning or returning students with some sewing knowledge. We keep classes small so everyone gets individual attention and assistance when needed. Sewing machines and supplies provided by FASHION LAB NY. Some classes may require students to purchase fabric or a kit. Ages 9 to 15.
Adult Sewing Lab
You will learn how to read a paper pattern, select the proper fabric, use various stitch and cutting techniques, taking measurements and how to approach fit. We will teach you more advanced skills based on your ability and experience.
We offer Labs for Beginner and Advanced Beginner sewists. Labs are perfect for Teens and Adults, ages 16 and up.
We have small, personal classes limited to 4-6 students, so that we can give you the attention you deserve.
Classes can be single and multiple sessions, or offered as programs for 2.5 hours per week for 6-weeks.
Home School at Fashion Lab NY
FASHION LAB NY now offers a Home School Sewing Club for Boys and Girls, Grades 3 – 7.
This program teaches students the fundamentals of machine sewing. You will learn basic sewing skills, reading and cutting a pattern, understanding fabrics and notions, while turning out a few projects.
Fashion Lab NY will supply all sewing machines, tools, and materials for these activities. No Experience Required! Perfect for the beginner or returning student. Ages 8 and up.
Our Home School Program runs for 4 weeks with each session consisting of 2 hours/week.
