We celebrate Black History this month with the KULC Community in a FREE Creative Workshop open to all kids and adults, where we will learn about the Adinkra symbols and attendees will decorate tote bags using a “batik” process. Each participant will create their own unique bag and take it home!

Adinkra are symbols from Ghana that represent concepts or aphorisms. Adinkra are used extensively in fabrics, logos and pottery. The symbols have a decorative function but also represent objects that encapsulate evocative messages that convey traditional wisdom, aspects of life or the environment. There are many different symbols with distinct meanings, often linked with proverbs. (wikipedia)

We are holding two FREE Sewing Workshops on Sunday, Dec 20th. These will be 2-hr classes with limited spots available in each session. A perfect opportunity to celebrate Community and Black History. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!

Please register ASAP and be sure you can attend as spots are limited and we want to give as many as possible a chance to participate.
