Let us teach you the basics of sewing in 6 weeks!
Learn to Sew and Make several wearable items in the process! In this Beginner Sewing Lab you will finish three essential projects during 6 weekly classes, including: Reversible Hobo Sling Bag, Lounge Pants and an A-line Skirt.

Skills you will learn: The skills you will learn are how to use a sewing machine, the concept of seam allowance and how to sew to a particular seam allowance, how to pin and cut fabric, how to sew in a straight line and how to sew curves. In the Lounge Pant class you will learn how to create a gathered waist and in the Skirt class you will learn how to insert a zipper.
Skills expected: No Experience Needed.
Materials needed: Fabric needs to be purchased for this class.
Reversible Hobo Bag: 2 yards of pre-washed fabric such as solid or print woven cotton. If you’d like the bag to be two different prints or solid/print you will need 1- yard of each.
Essential Lounge Pant: 3 yards of pre-washed fabric such as solid or print woven cotton or flannel.
Essential Skirt: 2 yards of pre-washed fabric such as cotton lawn, double gauze, cotton woven print, voile or linen.
***Nothing “stretchy” which means NO Knits. Also please avoid anything silky, slippery, or heavyweight
Materials provided: sewing patterns and instructions, a sewing machine, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, measuring tape, zipper and an iron.
Minimum and max number of people for class: Min 3 / Max 6
Ages 16 and up are welcome to take this class.
