This basic 2-hour sewing class will teach you useful techniques for sewing, finishing and repairing garments:
-How to sew a casual hem using a sewing machine.
-How to sew a blind (unseen) hem, by hand.
-How to securely and easily hand sew all types of buttons include buttons with 2 holes, 4 holes & shank buttons.
All sewing will be done on scraps of fabric that you can take with you. *Please note, the goal of the class is to demonstrate and practice hemming techniques and sewing buttons and not to complete/finish a garment.
Skills you will learn: Threading a needle, preparing your thread, hand sewing stitches, basic machine sewing hem.
Skills expected: None, but it will help your understanding of the class concepts if you have sewn before.
Materials needed: None
Materials provided: Needles, thread, sewing machines, fabric scraps
Minimum and max number of people for class: Min 3 / Max 6
